Nawaz Sharif voices concerns over Manzoor Afridi s nomination as caretaker CM KP

ISLAMABAD  – Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif censured Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf over the appointment of Manzoor Afridi as the caretaker chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In an informal discussion with newsmen outside the accountability court on Friday, the former premier highlighted that Manzoor Afridi’s brother was a sitting Senator from PTI, casting apprehensions over the selection.

The supreme leader of ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz also decried the ongoing cases against him and termed them ‘a joke’.

“The nation neither accepts the plane hijacking case nor the current cases against me,” declared Sharif.

Moreover, the 68-year-old politician asserted that his narrative and stance will prove to be victorious as ‘there was no other option except for victory.’

The elder Sharif highlighted the development projects completed by the incumbent regime and mentioned that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was the only party which worked for the betterment of the people.

Nawaz Sharif also slated his arch-rival, PTI, for one more time and wondered whether any project was completed by Imran Khan-led party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He continued that PML-N eliminated terrorism from the country, built motorways and made multi-billion Dollars China-Pakistan Economic Corridor a reality adding that the government took efforts to restore peace in Karachi and curbed incidents of crime.

“We didn’t get time to perform as, after the 2014 protests, we could only work till 2016,” the ousted PM decried.

Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz appeared before the accountability court today, where the latter resumed her testimony in the Avenfield Reference before Judge Muhammad Bashir.
