Fehmida, Zulfiqar Mirza jump ship to Grand Democratic Alliance

KARACHI  – Disgruntled leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)  Zulfiqar and Fehmida Mirza on Sunday announced to join the Pir Pagara led Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA).

Addressing a press conference along with GDA leader Pir Pagara, Fehmida slammed PPP’s performance in the province and said the party has done nothing that they had promised in their manifesto.

“I don’t think there is any thing named PPP now,” she said.

Fehmida asserted that ‘education emergency’ is the need of the province, adding that the state of development in Sindh was deplorable.

The politician also invited members of various political parties in Sindh and independent candidates from the province to join hands with the democratic alliance.

Alliances in elections are nothing extraordinary, said the former speaker of the National assembly.

Pagara on the occasion said that the objectives of the GDA and Fehmida are the same.

The GDA comprises Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, National Peoples Party, Qaumi Awami Tehreek, Sindh National Front, Peoples Party (Workers) and some other like-minded groups.

The alliance of various parties in rural Sindh was formed last year to rival PPP.
