ISLAMABAD – Former prime minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was issued a challan ticket by the National Highways and Motorways Police for overspeeding on a thoroughfare leading to Islamabad.
Abbasi was proceeding to the federal capital on S-860 belt of M-2, near the Ravi Toll plaza when he was fined Rs 750 for driving his vehicle at a speed higher than the prescribed one.
According to the ticket, Abbasi’s vehicle was moving at 132 KM/H while the set limit by NHA was 120 Kilometers per hour; the vehicle was being driven by the driver of the former premier.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi served as the prime minister of Pakistan following the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in the Panama Papers Case.
Abbasi kept himself low-profile even during his stint as the highest office bearer of the country and is lauded for living a simple yet graceful life as a politician.
