ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has ruled out a possibility of withdrawing its candidate fielded against an estranged leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and former interior minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, in upcoming elections.

Earlier, local media rife with the reports that Nisar has decided to make seat adjustment with PTI for 2 National Assembly -NA-59 (Rawalpindi), NA-63 (Taxila) – and 2 Provincial Assembly seats – PP-10 and PP-12.

However, PTI Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry talking to a private media outlet said that Nisar had never been the member of the party and there was no possibility of leaving the field open for him.

The PTI has fielded party’s vice-president Ghulam Sarwar Khan against the PML-N dissident in three out of the four constituencies he is contesting.

On the other hand, Chaudhry Nisar’s spokesperson clarified that there were no talks with the PTI regarding the seat adjustment.

On Saturday, PML-N leader and former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique had announced that Nisar had parted ways with the PML-N.
