Key TTP leader arrested at Peshawar airport while fleeing to Dubai

PESHAWAR – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested the main commander of banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan from Peshawar airport.

The immigration staff apprehended Molvi Bahadur Jan at the Bacha Khan International Airport when he was trying to flee the country through a private airline by changing his appearance.

The name of the Taliban Commander has been put on the stop list by the Ministry of Interior and was identified during the verification of his travel documents, local media reported.

The arrest comes days after Afghan President Ashraf Ghani claimed that elusive TTP chief Mullah Fazlullah had been killed in a US drone strike in Afghanistan.
