LAHORE – Former Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif appeared on Wednesday in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Punjab Saaf Pani Company scam.
During the hearing of case, the president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was asked questions related to the scandal for two and a half hours at NAB Lahore office.
Earlier, representative of Shehbaz Sharif had submitted a reply in NAB on his behalf as he failed to appear in Saaf Pani Company case.

These companies have been accused of certain irregularities in recruitment violations and non-completion of various projects in time.
Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested two former officials, Wasim Ajmal and Qamar-ul-Islam of the Saaf Pani Company in the scam.
Wasim Ajmal was a former CEO of the Saaf Pani Company while Qamra-ul-Islam is a PML-N leader and contending general elections 2018 against Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan from NA 59.
The NAB in November last year had launched a thorough probe into alleged corruption in the 56 public-sector companies, including the PSPC, formed by the Shahbaz Sharif administration in Punjab.
PSPC is one among 56 companies formed by the chief minister. Chairperson NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal had ordered an inquiry into complaints of embezzlement in these companies. Besides, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had also taken notice regarding PSPC and provision of clean drinking water.
Two weeks ago, during the proceedings before the court, the officers of the Punjab government had conceded that at least Rs4 billion had been spent so far but PSPC had yet to produce a single drop of clean drinking water.
