Google honors Mehdi Hassan with a doodle on 91st birthday

LAHORE – Pakistan is enriched with many talented and creative people. This land is known for its culture, tradition, and legacy. Music is an essence of the subcontinent and over the years many locals got worldwide fame because of their in the born talent of artistry.

Mehdi Hassan was a known singer of Pakistan. This legendary singer was born on 18 July 1927. Today is his 91 birthday anniversary. On this occasion, Google tributed the late Sufi singer with a doodle on. Mehdi Hassan was also titled as a Shahenshah-e-Ghazal was born on July 18, 1927.

Pakistan’s legendary Ghazal singer, Mehdi Hassan was born in a village called Luna, into a family of traditional musicians. Today, on Wednesday, his 91st birth anniversary along with Google many other media forums will pay honors to the singer . His doodle feature will be seen by millions all over the world today on Google.

Hassan is considered as one of the best Ghazal singers of all time. His first song Jis Ne Mere Dil ko Dard Diya was featured in the movie Susral in 1962 and got popularity with Insha ji utho ab kooch karo is shar me dil ko lagna kia.

Government of Pakistan awarded him many awards like Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Pride of performance and Hilal-e-Imtiaz.

Mehdi was died on June 12, 2012, in Karachi after suffering protracted illness.
