Apex committee vows to expand Karachi operation

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh apex committee Sunday agreed that the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi would ‘indiscriminately’ continue until the city got cleared from miscreants, Samaa TV reported.

A meeting of Sindh apex committee was held at Chief Minister House where Sindh governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad, Karachi Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar , Sindh Rangers DG Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar and Sindh Police IG Ghulam Haider Jamali were also present.

During the meeting, both the civilian and military leadership agreed that the ongoing operation would be sped up and that it would be brought to its logical conclusion.

The committee also decided that each institution would continue to work under ambit of the constitution.

Following the meeting, Sindh information minister Sharjeel Memon told media that role of Rangers and Police in Karachi operation was appreciated in the meeting.

He announced action would be taken against all those elements who are training the people for carrying out terror activities.

Memon claimed crime rate in Sindh is lower than the other three provinces of the country.

He said the PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari congratulated the Karachi Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar over success in ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
