LAHORE – At least fifteen passengers have injured after nine coaches of Khushhal Express, scheduled from Karachi to Peshawar, derailed near Attock on Sunday late morning.
The derailment took place between the Sohan Bridge and Makhad Road Railway Stations, Which is about 85 kilometres from federal Captial Islamabad, around 11am.
The injured have been sent to the nearby hospital. Arrangements are being made to safely send other passengers to their destinations.
The train, which had departed from Karachi on Saturday, was en route to Peshawar via Mianwali and Attock.
According to the Railways ministry, a rescue train had been sent to the site of the incident.
