MUMBAI – Bollywood film industry is comprised of multi-talented stars and artists who have been entertaining the public for many years. Many stars entered the film industry and got huge fame due to Bollywood whereas some of the actors had bid farewell to the film industry a long time ago due to different reasons.
Wife of famous Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna left her career as an actor after getting married to the Singh Is King movie star. Twinkle Khanna decided to become an author and at the age of 38, she had finally found her calling.

But having come from a time when films like Mela were being made and words like sexism and gender equality were confined to social study classes, she seems to have gracefully adapted to the time of #metoo and raging public debates around feminism. Talking about the past, she says, “I don’t look back.”

While ‘Mrs. Funnybones’ has emerged out of the actor much later in life, there was no doubt about her being a ‘misfit’, as she calls herself. Khanna always had a dream of becoming a charted accountant but was pushed into Bollywood. The star had also stated herself as a Misfit in Bollywood film industry.

She shared that,” I would be knitting on the sets of my films or reading. My grandmother taught me how to knit and ours was a nice hippie household. Someone was always reading, or knitting or playing the guitar.” But it didn’t seem like a fitting thing for an actor to do back then, I was never interested in fitting in”.

Speaking of her book and it’s correlation with the #MeToo movement, Khanna continued that, “The book taps into the importance of consent and is in a way a ‘#MeToo book’.”
The former star’s first book titled Mrs. Funnybones was released in 2015. Pajamas Are Forgiving marks her third book. We wish her good luck and best wishes as a writer.
