Rabi-ul-Awwal moon not sighted, Eid Milad-ul-Nabi on Nov 21

KARACHI – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (CRHC) announced on Thursday that the crescent for the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal was not sighted in Pakistan, therefore, the Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated across the country on Wednesday, November 21.

The first Rabi-ul-Awwal will be on Saturday, November 10 while 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, the birthday of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), will fall on November 21 (Wednesday).

CRHC Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman made the announcement after chairing a meeting of the moon sighting committee in Karachi.

He said that 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal would be celebrated across Pakistan with religious passion and fervour on November 21.

The meeting of the crescent sighting body took place at the Pakistan Meteorological Department in Karachi. The central body takes its decision based on evidence which it receives from people and zonal committees across the country.
