DIG Lahore suspends entire police station staff over sale of drugs and gutka

LAHORE – On Saturday DIG Operation Haider Ashraf suspended all staff of Lohari police station following their failure to prevent selling of drugs and gutka in the area.

Taking notice of selling of drugs openly in the area, the DIG suspended SHO Faiz Rabbani and all his staff, ordering an inquiry against them in this regard.

Political figures of the area had submitted a complaint with the police regarding the selling of drugs and gutka.

Gutka in Pakistan is available in many forms. Although the substance was banned by the government, doctors estimate that millions of people still continue to consume it.

Gutka is a preparation of crushed areca nut, tobacco, catechu, paraffin wax, slaked lime and sweet or savory flavorings.
