KARACHI – Sindh government on Saturday removed A.D Khawaja from the post of Inspector General police.
The decision came hours after provincial government wrote a letter to federation surrendering services of police chief to centre.
The provincial government suggested three names, including Abdul Majeed, Ghulam Qadir Thebo and Khadim Hussain Bhatti, for the new Inspector General.
However, according to a notification issued, Sardar Abdul Majeed has been appointed as acting I.G Sindh.
Allah Dino Khawaja has been asked to report to establishment division in this regard.
The police official remained in limelight ever since PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari decided to return home after ending self-exile.
AD Khawaja was reportedly sent on forced leave by the provincial government days before the arrival of Asif Ali Zardari.
Following the decision, Sindh High Court directed the provincial government not to take any action against the police official.
