PERTH (Web Desk) – Australia has won the tri-series final, beating England by 112 runs in the final match.
Glenn Maxwell was declared man of the match for an all-round display, taking three wickets to help skittle the English after his 95 off 98 balls set up Australia’s first innings of 8 for 278.
Maxwell’s 4 for 40, coupled with Mitchell Johnson’s 3 for 27, saw England reduced to 166 all out.
Moeen Ali (26), Ian Bell (25) and Stuart Broad (24) were the only English batsmen to offer any resistance.
Earlier India had lost to England failing to qualify for the final ahead world cup 2015.
