SC to hear Panama Leaks case today, Imran likely to miss proceedings

ISLAMABAD  – A five-member larger bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, will start hearing of the petitions on Panama Leaks issue today (Tuesday).

Former attorney-general Salman Aslam Butt will represent PM Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Ishaq Dar and Capt Safdar in the case.Earlier, the SC had issued notices to PM Nawaz and others.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Awami Muslim League in their petitions have urged the apex court to set up a commission to investigate Panama Leaks issue and for the disqualification of the Prime Minister for concealing assets.

Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan had vowed to attend the proceedings of the court but due to probable arrest, he might change his plan.
