Fazlur Rehman postpones multiparty-conference against Imran Khan s govt

ISLAMABAD – Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has postponed the multi-party conference in the purview of ‘failure’ to persuade mainstream opposition parties.

Fazl held two media talks at his residence on Wednesday and announced that a PML-N proposal was under consideration by his party.

‘We have received the PML-N proposal which suggests that the parliamentary leaders meet before the conference,’ the JUI-F chief said.

Maulana had called for a multiparty conference to unite the political parties opposed to the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), but the lacklustre response from the major opposition parties including Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led to its postponement.

Reacting to the multiparty conference, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry expressed that the Maulana’s APC came out to be a balloon without proper air.

‘Nowadays Maulana sahib can see stars (sitaray) during the day and Israeli aircraft (taiyaray) at night,’ Chaudhry quipped.

The minister continued that we should let him try and go on saying, for now people have trusted the PTI and Imran Khan.
