NEW YORK – Bank of America vice president has been killed, and another victim was critically injured in a knife attack at New York Times Square on Tuesday.
Erin Piacenti was fatally stabbed in what authorities described as an apparently unprovoked attack in Times Square. Piacenti worked in New York as Bank of America’s vice president for business selection and conflicts. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she completed her undergraduate studies in 2016 and later earned her law degree from Fordham Law School in 2021.

Another man was also stabbed during the rampage. He survived the attack but was left in critical condition.
The suspect was later confronted by cops while allegedly carrying two large knives. Dramatic footage from the scene shows the woman waving the weapons as she moved toward police. Officers reportedly deployed Tasers in an attempt to stop her, but the devices failed to bring her under control.
The situation quickly escalated as the woman allegedly refused to drop the knives and threatened the officers, warning them that she would kill them before advancing toward them.
Police then opened fire, striking the woman in the chest. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities said the suspect had a history of mental illness, while investigators continued examining the circumstances surrounding the stabbing spree and the fatal police shooting.
