A mafia is in danger not democracy, says Imran

LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Sunday that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz should stop using democracy as a cover to hide their misdeeds, adding that a mafia is in danger not democracy in the country.

Speaking at an event, he said that senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has made money through prize bonds, he cannot understand Panama case and PM Nawaz is using democracy in order to save himself from accountability.

If the Sharif family fails to respond to the queries raised in the Panama Papers case probe, they will spend the next Eid in Adiala Jail instead of London, the PTI chief said.

“I would like to congratulate the nation as the dark night over us is about to come to an end and will be replaced with a bright future ahead,” Imran Khan told reporters.

He underscored how the ruling party had been “fooling” the public using the name of democracy. However, he added, this “formula” would not work anymore.

Khan said, “Constructing bridges and roads is seen as a sign of prosperity by the ruling elite but this will be replaced by the supremacy of law, justice and robust institutions in the new Pakistan envisioned by the PTI.”

The PTI chairman said corrupt rulers who had looted Pakistan would be brought to justice.

“As a sportsman I have always played to win and never contemplated defeat,” he added.
