LAHORE- Actor Sanam Saeed has come out in support of Asma Aziz, a resident of Lahore who was allegedly beaten up by her husband and had her head shaved when she refused to dance in front of his friends.
The Cake star tweeted in defense of the woman after people victim-blamed her and rationalised her husband’s torture and mistreatment after the video went viral.
In a video circulating on social media, Asma described how her husband and his friends brutally tormented her and shaved her head. After some time, another video surfaced on the social media showing Asma allegedly dancing and singing along to songs in a car. As some people resorted to “victim blaming”, others supported her saying the dancing did not justify the violence she was subjected to.
Politicians and other prominent personalities have also highlighted the case on social platforms condemning the incident and calling for justice to be served.
