Drone cameras, helicams banned in Punjab after terror threats

LAHORE (Staff Report) – The Punjab Home Department has banned drones cameras and unmanned air crafts for all types of media coverage and sports to prevent security threats.

According to the text of the notification issued by the provincial Home Department, all flying of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/Drones), remote controlled model aircraft (RCMA), unmanned aircraft system (UAS), flying cameras, quad copters, helicams and balloons for all types of aerial media coverage and sports etc would be banned within the territory of Punjab.

The notification stated that it has been reported that there exist threats to the law and order situation and public peace in Punjab province due to use of above drones. The order to remain in force in the province of Punjab from November 21, 2015 to December 20, 2015.
