BZU professor among 6 arrested for raping and filming female student in Multan

MULTAN – Police have rounded up six suspects, including a professor of Bahauddin Zakriya University for allegedly raping a female student in Multan, local media reported.

The case surfaced in the South Punjab city on Thursday when the student of varsity’s Siraiki department approached the local police accusing a professor identified as Ajmal Mahar and a fellow student of raping her and filming the incident.

The victim informed the police that she filed complaint with the vice chancellor a year ago but no action was taken against them. She said that the accused were blackmailing her on the basis of video tape.

Revealing the incident, the girl said that Mahar invited her to his home for a meeting with his spouse, but there was no one when she reached the place. Later, the accused raped her and also filmed while assaulting.

She nominated six persons in her report for blackmailing her.

Gulgasht SP Imran Jalil has said that matter was being probed by the police, adding that a case will be registered after initial investigation.

The police sent the girl to the Women Protection Centre in Multan, where she will be examined by the doctors .
