LAHORE – After Lahore-based Orange Line Metro Train project engulfs funds allocated for education and health sectors in Punjab province, it now has started affecting anti-terrorism activities.
According to an Urdu daily, Dunya, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) is now among the victims after other sectors as the provincial government has refused to release funds for purchasing a helicopter for Punjab police.
As per reports, the logistic branch prepared PC-I twice to buy a helicopter in order to strengthen operation against terrorism.
But the government shelved the procurement when a summary was sent to the government in this regard.
After the government’s refusal, the logistic branch has closed the file to acquire the helicopter for the CTD forces restricting Punjab police from modrenisation.
