LUDHIANA – A minor girl passed away in an Indian hospital on Tuesday after she underwent a heart surgery, local media reported.
The seven-year-old Zainab, who belongs to Faisalabad, was taken to Ludhiana India by her parents on the recommendations of doctors at Faisalabad’s Institute of Cardiology.
The deceased, who had three holes in her heart with the left side not working, underwent the surgery last night, her father said in a video message circulating on social media.
The seven-year-old was moved to the intensive care unit (ICU) after her surgery and the next 24 hours were said to be critical. However, Zainab could not survive and died at 4am today.
The father said that the body of Zainab has been handed over to them but they are facing hardship in bringing it back to Pakistan. He said that he has been sent to various government departments to obtain the travel documents. He has sought help from Pakistani High Commission in the matter.
