LAHORE- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s presidential candidate Arif Alvi called for a 24/7 helpline to address mental health issues. He highlighted the dire need of such helpline after the tragic death of 26-year-model Anam Naveed Tanoli, who committed suicide after battling with depression.
Mr Alvi raised the issue on Twitter and shared the following statement:
“Millions of people especially women under different socio-economic pressures face depression and some commit suicide. Psychiatric help should be readily available including a 24/7 helpline,”

It’s extremely important. We don’t care much about the emotional and psychological abuse our women go through. Now that we have an educated leadership we really want that other than physical abuse, we need to be sensitised on emotional and psychological abuse.
