Khaqan Abbasi seeks Avenfield reference verdict after polls

ISLAMABAD – Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has expressed that the accountability court in Islamabad should announce its verdict in the Avenfield reference after the upcoming general elections, scheduled on July 25.

Talking to a private news channel on Tuesday, the former lawmaker claimed that the sympathizes of the people were already with the former prime minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif

Abbasi expressed the hope that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would not boycott the upcoming general election as it would win it with thumping majority.

“We will not be a part of any conspiracy which may worsen situation in the country and have negative impact on the national economy,” he said.

To a question, he alleged that PTI chief Imran Khan was a master of U-turns.

It bears mentioning that judge Muhammad Bashir will announce the verdict in the much-awaited London flats reference on Friday for which the accused including Nawaz Sharif has been asked to personally show up.

Both Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are in London to tend to Kulsoom Nawaz, undergoing treatment at the Harley Street Clinic.
