ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Renowned Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali’s concert in New Delhi scheduled to be held on November 8 has been cancelled.
According to private news channel, the concert has been called off as the singer cited personal reasons. His son Amir said that the singer was wary of fringe elements and was waiting for conditions in India to calm down.
His concert in Mumbai was also suspended in wake of the threats and objections by Shiv Sena after which he was given an invitation to perform in Delhi by the Aam Aadmi Party government.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, who handles the law, art and culture portfolios in the Arvind Kejriwal-led government, invited Ghulam Ali to perform at a concert in the national capital.
However, the music maestro will participate at Lucknow Mahostav starting November 25 on the invitation of Chief Minster Akhilesh Yadav to perform at the 10-day event. He will perform on Ghazal night on December 3.
