PPP,PTI and JI faces major setbacks in Karachi

KARACHI (Staff Report) – Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Waseem Akhtar won his seat while Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chapter Hafiz Naim-ur-Rehman, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Organizer President Karachi Ali Zaidi lost their seats in third phase of LB polls here on Saturday.

Similarly, Najmi Alam,former MNA and President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Karachi division also lost his seat.

According to unofficial and unconfirmed results Najmi Alam lost to Muhammad Hanif Memon, a joint candidate of PTI and JI in UC 30, Clifton.

Naim-ur-Rehman has been defeated by Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Mazhar Hussain in UC 18, North Nazimabad, District Central. Mazhar Hussain bagged 3205 votes while Naim ur Rehman managed to secure 713 votes.

President for PTI Karachi, Ali Zaidi is reported to have been defeated by MQM’s Noshad Khan in Soldier Bazar area.
