LAHORE - As the winter season has arrived in the country, the demand of most favorite dessert of winter 'Gajar Ka Halwa' has increased in shops and sweet bakeries.

Men, women, and children come to these shops to hit the cold with halwa which is a favorite sweet dish of everyone but it becomes more popular in the winter season, 'Gajar Ka Halwa' is one of the most delicious desserts of the winter season.

The red colored Halwa which is decorated with dried fruits is a mouthwatering delight. The traditional sweet dish is decorated with a layer of chopped cashews, nuts, and khoya.

Let's go through some reasons which make Gajar ka halwa is a must-have winter dish:

Seasonal food is important for a particular reason: We all apply sunscreen in winter to protect ourselves from the UV rays. Carrot is rich in beta-carotene, which helps the skin by blocking the UV rays, which are usually active during winter. Thus, making Gajar ka halwa mandatory in winter.

Good source of Vitamins: Gajar halwa is carrots. Carrots are loaded with vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, and fiber. The vitamin A in carrots helps to improve the vision, thus making it mandatory to finish the halwa in your bowl.

Good source of calcium and protein:  The cashews and raisins add to the protein and antioxidants in the halwa, whereas milk provides a sufficient amount of calcium.

Helps reducing Body aches and pain: Though ghee is very healthy but still if you prefer not to have loads of it, you can use 1 tablespoon of butter. Also, the upper chest infection rises in winter and the vitamin A present in carrots improves your immune system, thereby shielding you from infections.

Removes toxins out of body: Prepared by grated carrots, not only does the vitamin D help you flush out toxins from your body & help improve your vision, given you should use a balanced amount of ingredients for avoiding excessive weight gain.

British Pound rate is 354.85 for buying, and 358.35 for selling. UAE Dirham AED was at 76.5 and Saudi Riyal lowered to 73.70.
