LHC to hear Hamza’s pre-arrest bail on April 8

LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has set April 8 for hearing a pre-arrest bail filed by Punjab Assembly’s Opposition Leader Hamza Shehbaz on Saturday to avoid his arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore.

If not arrested today, Hamza will be required to appear before the court on Monday, where Justice Malik Shehzad and Justice Waqas Rauf will preside over the hearing of the plea.

The petition stated that the NAB unnecessarily raided Hamza Shahbaz’s house on Friday, with arrest warrants without any prior notice while the LHC has instructed officials to give prior notice before his arrest.

The petition demanded to suspend the arrest warrants and take action against NAB for contempt of court.

Earlier today, the NAB has once again reached and cordoned off  PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s residence, 96 H-Model Town in Lahore, with additional contingents of police and anti-riots force to arrest Hamza Shehbaz.

The NAB team has reached the residence with arrests warrants.
