TOBA TEK SINGH (Staff Report) – A day-long polling process is underway for by-election in PP-89 Toba Tek Singh.
Polling started at 8:00am sharp and will continue till 5:00pm without any formal interval.
The constituency has 166,613 registered voters and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established as many 147 polling stations.
According to media reports an eyeball-to-eyeball contest is expected between PML-N candidate Ali Baba and independent candidate Syeda Sonia Raza Shah, who is daughter of late Makhdoom Ali Raza and enjoys support of PTI.
The seat fell vacant due to demise of PML-N member provincial assembly Makhdoom Ali Raza.
