Imran Khan would’ve been wearing GPS bracelet if women protection bill was passed earlier: Sanaullah

FAISALABAD (Web Desk) – Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Sunday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan would have wearing a GPS bracelet on his wrist if women protection bill had been passed earlier.

While talking to the media persons, provincial minister Rana Sanaullah said the objective of the legislation was to provide protection and legal aid to the oppressed women. He maintained that the government would certainly review it if the women protection bill has any section against the teachings of Islam.

The Women’s Protection Act, passed by province of Punjab last week, gives legal protection to women from domestic, psychological and sexual violence.

It also calls for the creation of a toll-free abuse reporting hot line, women’s shelters and district-level panels to investigate reports of abuse and mandates the use of GPS bracelets to keep track of offenders.
