Asadullah Owaisi

NEW DEHLI – President of the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party, Asadullah Owaisi, has called for legislation to punish those who called Indian Muslims as Pakistani, and said that if a criminal is found guilty of being punished, it should be sentenced to 3 years.

According to Indian TV, Asadullah Owaisi’s statement came days after the remarks of the district magistrate in which he said that that it had become a trend for people to forcefully enter Muslim localities, raise anti-Pakistan slogans.

District Magistrate Raghvendra Vikram Singh made the comment on a Facebook post on Sunday, after communal clashes in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj, where one person was killed, and property and vehicles were set on fire on Republic Day.

Singh wrote, “A very strange trend has started of late. Take out processions by force through Muslim dominated localities and raise anti-Pakistan slogans. Why? Are these people Pakistani? The same thing had happened in Khailam village of Bareilly. Then stones were pelted, FIRs lodged.”

District Magistrate deliberated their post, but they said they were on their own remarks.
