ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan and Maldives on Thursday sealed four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on cooperation in health, education, sports sectors and for combating illicit trafficking.
The signing ceremony at the Prime Minister’s House was witnessed by President of Maldives Yameen Abdul Gayoom and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The MoU on cooperation for combating illicit trafficking and abuse of narcotics drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors was signed between PM’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Maldives Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor.
The MoU on bilateral cooperation in the field of sports was signed by Minister for Inter-provincial Harmony Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada and Minister at Maldives President’s Office Mohannad Hussain Sharif.
Health Minister Saira Afzal Tarar and Minister at Maldives President’s Office Mohannad Hussain Sharif signed the MoU on health.
The MoU on education was signed by State Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Balighur Rehman and Maldives Education Minister Dr Aishath Shiham.
