ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to start “Online system” in order to scrutinize the nomination papers of candidates for the next general election.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) would develop the purposed Online System and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), National Accountability Bureau (NAB), GAS, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and ECP would link with this system.
The important meeting was held on Sunday in connecting with the preparations of forthcoming election as all four provincial secretaries, Chief Secretary FATA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad participated in the meeting.
However, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Muhammad Raza heads the important meeting. The meeting members’ devised an efficient mechanism on scrutiny of nomination papers for candidates in the 2018 general elections.
It was decided to start online system to scrutinize the nomination papers of candidates for the next general election. All above-mentioned institutions of the country will be lined with this system so that necessary detail to be provided to returning officers.
Moreover, the ECP has also called the meeting of all Provincial Chief Secretaries, Additional Chief Secretary FATA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad today Tuesday the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad.
The Chief Election Commissioner Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza shall chair the meeting. The agenda of the meeting is district-wise progress report on missing facilities as indicated by the Election Commission, process of procurement and installation of CCTV cameras in most sensitive polling stations, availability of complete list of officers/ officials to be appointed as polling staff Law and order situation during the election process including pre-poll election campaign with special reference to the attack on interior minister.-Online
