CHITRAL – Tremors were felt in parts of the Chitral and adjoining areas as an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale hits the area on early Thursday morning.
The earthquake comes as an another shock following the tragic crash of PIA flight PK-661 that took off from Chitral at 3:40pm and crashed near Havelian at 4:16pm, killing all 48 persons on board including five of crew members.
The earthquake is being viewed as a bad omen and strange coincidence.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 60 km deep at the border area between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
No loss of life and property has been reported so far.
