NEW YORK (Staff Report) – Warne’s Warriors have defeated Sachin’s Blasters by 6 wickets in the historic T20 match of Cricket All Stars series at Citi Field in New York.
Citi Field is basically a baseball ground which was converted into a cricket stadium for the match.
Australia’s legendary Shane Warne was declared Man of the Match, for picking three wickets against 20 runs.
While batting first Sachin’s Blasters set a 141 runs target, India’s Sehwag remaining the prominent batsman by scoring 55 runs on 22 balls only. Tendulker scored 26 runs.
Australia’s Symonds, who was representing Warne’s Warriors, also dismissed three batsmen for 15 runs only.
Warne’s Warriors chased the target in 17.2 overs when Sri Lanka’s Sangakara scored 48 runs while Australia’s Pointing smashed 41 runs on 29 balls only.
Pakistan’s Shoaib Akhter picked two wickets in the game, representing Sachin’s Blasters.
Both teams are scheduled to play two more T20 games in United States, one in Houston and final in Las Angeles.
