ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - While the cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and his second wife Reham Khan have announced that they have formally signed their divorce papers, a British newspaper has claimed the first divorced the latter by a text message.

According to Daily Mail, Imran Khan sent word 'talaq,' which means I divorce you in English, three times in a text message and afterwards he also sent a brief email to Reham Khan.

"The text message and email was received by Reham Khan immediately after her arrival in Birmingham on October 30. She also received a call from close aide of Imran Khan, who confirmed the divorce."

A source has been quoted saying as "If Reham knew that divorce was a possible consequence she would not have left Bani Gala in first place."

"Imran Khan's close friend a UK based businessman Zulfi Bukhari is busy in drawing out a financial settlement between the couple. He is also hosting Reham Khan during her stay in UK."

The newspaper also claimed the divorce is an counterattack of Imran Khan against Reham Khan's strong will to gain more power. She was also unhappy for Imran's pet dogs entering her bedroom, while the close relatives of her husband were also made feel being unwelcome in Bani Gala residence.

On the other hand Reham Khan's whole family was either residing with her or visiting her very often.

She also felt insecure over a close relationship between Imran Khan and his first wife Jemima Khan, who is also mother of his two sons.

Imran Khan and Reham Khan had announced to part ways on October 30 through a press release to Pakistani media and Twitter posts. They said the divorce was by a mutual consent.

Imran Khan and his Reham Khan on Saturday said they have formally got separated after signing divorce papers.

According to media reports, Imran Khan’s close friend Reham Khan’s assumed brother Zulfiqar Bukhari alias Zulfi Bukhari played a key role in getting papers signed.

Zulfi Bukhari got into the matter on the request of Imran Khan and he settled all the issued with Reham Khan in London, reports said.
