PESHAWAR – Famed ‘Afghan Mona Lisa’ Sharbat Gula has been reportedly repatriated to Afghanistan, Geo TV reported.
Sharbat Gula, who was sentenced to to 15 days imprisonment after being named in the case as one of the thousands of Afghan refugees who managed to dodge Pakistan’s computerised system to get an identity card last year, was released late on Tuesday and was deported to Afghanistan via Torkham border.
According to reports, Gula’s children had already been sent back to Afghanistan.
