Opposition leader Khursheed Shah demands sacking of PIA MD

ISLAMABAD – Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly (NA), Khurshid Shah has demanded the government on Thursday to sack Managing Director (MD) of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) over PK-661 crash.

He claimed that Managing Director of PIA was earning around Rs 7 million per month but was unable to perform his duties with responsibility. The opposition leader also claimed that ATR jets have not been designed for the high-altitude flights.

Shah said that the opposition wanted to strengthen the parliament but the government itself wanted Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to resign.

He alleged the premier of not giving due importance to the parliament. He said that the four demands put forth by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) aimed at supremacy of the parliament.

The legislator said that the government would have its tenure ended before due time owing to its failures.

‘The government was itself creating an atmosphere conducive to ‘Go Nawaz Go’ he asserted.

He claimed that former president Asif Ali Zardari actually played a vital role for multi-billion dollars CPEC project.

He further said that it was the government of PPP which handed over the administration of Gwadar Port to China from Singapore.
