LONDON – Starring Mahira Khan as the lead, Shoaib Mansoor’s social drama film ‘Verna’ is set to screen at the UK Asian Film Fest 2018. The festival will be held from 14th- 25th March.
Celebrating 20 years of independent South Asian cinema, the festival will host film screening for 12 days in Filmhouse, Edinburgh (22nd – 25th March), HOME, Manchester (25th March), Phoenix Cinema, Leicester (15th March extended to 31st March) and across various cinemas in London (14th – 25th March) .
This time, the main focus will be on showing movies that have women centric stories, according to the officials. The stories to be shown will have their women leads challenging stereotypes and pushing boundaries from the common norms of the society.
