ISLAMABAD – Model cum TV star Ayyan Ali has been declared proclaimed offender in currency smuggling case. A hearing on currency smuggling case was held in Rawalpindi’s Customs Court by Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta.
Ayyan Ali’s lawyer Aftab Bajwa, Barrister Sarfraz Ali and both guarantors Shaukat Abbas and Mahmood Nawaz appeared before the court. Expressing displeasure over the absence of Ayyan Ali, the court remarked that the model did not appear before the court despite being given a two-month period.

The address model gave is of a private society in Karachi. The court asked the investigation officer to submit details of Ayyan Ali’s properties besides ordering to seize her assets. The court took oath from customs officials during the hearing. The court asked if the ad has been pasted at Ayyan Ali’s residence.
When Ayyan Ali’s counsel pleaded for another hearing, the judge asked him to wait for court orders. The court ordered to write a letter to Sessions judge, Karachi and restrict all the departments to stop the selling of her property.

The court also issued bailable and non-bailable arrest warrants for Ayyan Ali and summoned all the witnesses in the next hearing. The hearing of the case has been adjourned till March 16.
On March 14, 2015, Ayyan Ali was arrested at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport while boarding a flight to the United Arab Emirates carrying $506,800.
