RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – Incoming Commander of the United States Central Command (US CENTCOM), General Joseph L. Votel on Monday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
Matters of mutual interests were discussed during the meeting with special emphasis on the security situation in Afghanistan, said an ISPR press release.
The visiting dignitary lauded the Pakistan Army’s role in bringing peace and stability in the region.
Earlier, on arrival his at the GHQ, a contingent of Pakistan Army presented the Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary. General Joseph L. Votel also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e- Shuhada to pay homage to Pakistan Army shuhada.
