Massive 6.4 earthquake shakes Punjab, KP

ISLAMABAD – An earthquake of massive intensity stirred panic across the country as it shook major cities on Wednesday.

According to initial details, the earthquake of intensity 6.4 was felt in Lahore, Faisalabad, Okara, Sargodha, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhang, Chinniot, Murree, Narowal, Chitral, Wazirabad.

The tremors – which lasted for 15 to 20 seconds – were felt in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Bagh, Abbottabad, Malakand, Dera Ismail Khan, Charsadda, Mansehra, Dir, Sawat.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the quake’s epicentre was recorded at 97 kilometres along Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region

In a span of 24 hours, tremors have been felt in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Tremors felt In India

The earthquake tremors were also felt in New Delhi, India and Kashmir region, however, the intensity was not so severe.
