PESHAWAR – A senior police officer of Counter-Terrorism Department was shot dead by unknown militants in Peshawar on Saturday.
DSP Riazul Islam and his son were on their way to home after offering evening prayers in a nearby mosque when terrorists targeted their vehicle on Charsadda road.
The police official died instantly while his son sustained bullet injuries, according to police officials.
Police launched a search operation in the area following the attack. Further investigation was in process.
