ISLAMABAD – Nine more dead bodies of the victims of the Havelian plane crash have been identified, officials said on Saturday.
According to National Disaster Management Authority, the deceased are identified as Amna Ahmed, Maahrukh Ahmed, Haji Nawaz, Muhammad Takbeer Khan, DC Chitral Osama Ahmed Warraich, Sami and Air Hostesses Asma Adil and Sadaf.
The Safety Investigation Board has formally kicked off its probe into Wednesday’s plane crash, with authorities expecting outcome of the inquiry not before one-and-a-half month.
At least 47 people were killed when a PIA ATR plane crash into a mountainous region in Abbottabad district after one of its two turboprop engines failed while travelling from Chitral to Islamabad.
The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed there were no survivors from the ill-fated flight.
Popular singer-turned-preacher Junaid Jamshed also perished in the crash along with his wife.
