ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved the nomination of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Executive Committee Chairman Najam Sethi to the PCB Board of Governors for a three-year term.
Apart from Sethi, the nomination of Arif Ejaz, CEO of Adamjee Insurance and KSB Pumps Industries, was also approved.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved nomination of two members, namely Najam Aziz Sethi and Arif Ejaz, to the Board of Governors of the PCB,” read a statement posted by the Prime Minister’s Office on Facebook on Monday.
The terms of both nominees will start on August 6.
Najam Sethi, a prominent journalist serves as chairman of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the second edition of which began in February 2017.
Sethi was praised for ensuring the final match of Pakistan Super League at Lahore.
He also served as interim chief minister Punjab in 2013 drawing ire from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for allegedly rigging general elections 2013 in favour of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, though no substantial evidence was put forth by the accusers.
