KARACHI – The State Bank of Pakistan will contribute to the construction of the much-required dams in the country.
SBP Deputy Governor Shamsul Hassan said that the officials of SBP and several commercial banks have donated their one-day salary for the construction of Diamer Basha and Mohmand dams.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) ordered on Tuesday to all the commercial banks and microfinance banks operating in the country to open ‘Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dam Fund Account-2018’ to collect funds for construction of the two dams.

The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has also announced that all its employees would donate money from their salaries to the Diamer-Basha and Mohmand Dam Fund, in a generous attempt to join other state institutions contributing for construction of new water reservoirs.

Pakistan military also announced to participate in the public cause of tackling water crisis by contributing to the recently launched Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund.
