LAHORE – All private and public schools across the Punjab province will observe summer vacations from May 17, the education minister announced on Thursday.
Rana Mashhood Khan, who is the provincial minister for Schools Education, confirmed that the schools will reopen on August 10.
The schedule of vacations has been changed to provide some relief to the school-going children in Ramazan, he added.

Despite scattered showers in various parts of Punjab, the temperature in the provincial plains is soaring.
The health experts have advised people of southern Punjab to take all precautionary measures including plenty of water intake to avoid dehydration, avoid hot or sugary drinks (including tea and coffee) to prevent heat-related complications, drink cold drinks and eat smaller amounts of food, and use cold meals, such as salads and fruits.
Earlier, the Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah approved a summary seeking early summer vacations in the schools due to extremely hot weather in the province.
