ISLAMABAD – Yaum-e-Ashur is going to be observed across the country on Wednesday (October 12).
Small and big processions will be taken out in Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
Strict security arrangements are in place to avoid any untoward incident. CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor the route of processions. Volunteers and scouts will also perform duties on the occasion. Majalis-e-Aza will be held where ulema will highlight the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S), his family and companions.
Meanwhile, the government has finalised arrangements to maintain peace and tranquility on the occasion of Ashura-e-Muharram.
Police and Rangers have been deployed in a large number in various parts of the country.
The government has announced two public holidays on 9th and 10th Muharram.
All public and semi-government institutions will remain closed on these two days.
