Chaudhry Sarwar announces to open Punjab Governor House for public

LAHORE – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar on Monday announced to open the doors of the governor house for the public.

Speaking to media, Sarwar said that the Governor House was a public property, adding that the state-owned buildings are the assets of the country.

The Punjab Governor House will be opened for public from 10am till 6pm every Sunday, he said, adding that families and school children, at the first, will be allowed to visit the building.

“I live in my Defence residence and want to stay there,” the newly-appointed governor said, adding that the decision has been taken following the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Yesterday, the Governor House in Murree was also opened for the public after the Punjab governor gave the order after receiving directives from IM Imran.

The announcement comes after the Sindh Governor House was opened for the public on September 7 when the public was permitted to walk in the garden and historic building.
